How does custom patch pricing work?
Pricing depends on patch type, size, quantity, and number of colors - our calculator gives instant estimates with no quote required for standard orders.
Custom patch pricing is determined by four main factors: patch type (embroidered vs. PVC), size (measured in inches at the longest dimension), quantity ordered, and for embroidered patches, the number of thread colors and embroidery coverage percentage.
Embroidered patches are priced per piece on a quantity-tiered scale. A single 3-inch patch might cost $8–12 per piece, while the same patch at 100 pieces might run $3–5 per piece, and at 500 pieces $1.50–2.50. The drop is significant because setup and handling costs are fixed regardless of quantity - spreading them across more pieces lowers the per-unit cost dramatically.
PVC patches include a one-time mold fee on top of the per-piece cost. The mold fee is typically $50–80 for standard shapes and covers the custom silicone tooling. After the first order the mold is yours - reorders use the existing mold and you only pay per-piece production cost. PVC per-piece pricing tends to be lower than embroidered at equivalent quantities once the mold cost is amortized.
Our Pricing page includes an interactive calculator where you can set patch type, size, and quantity to get a real-time estimate before you ever talk to anyone. For quotes involving non-standard shapes, unusual materials, or large volumes (1,000+), we confirm a formal quote within 2 business hours.
Design is always free regardless of order size. There are no setup fees, artwork fees, or subscription charges. You pay for production and shipping only. Rush production is available for an additional fee, which varies by order size and timeline.
