Design custom patches inside your AI chat
Add PatchDesign.AI to ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini or another AI chat you already use. Then ask for a patch in your own words: the chat prices it, shows you the design, changes it when you ask, and gives you a link to order it.
Watch it: from a chat message to your order
Ask in ChatGPT, click Order on the design card, and Parker carries your patch straight into our designer.
Step by step (the video, in words)
- 1
Ask in your chat
In ChatGPT, name PatchDesign.AI and describe the patch you want, for example a 3 inch round embroidered patch for the Trail Dogs hiking club.
- 2
See the design card
PatchDesign.AI designs it in about 20 seconds and the chat shows the design card, here design D-20563, embroidered, 3 by 3 inches, with an Order button.
- 3
Click Order on PatchDesign.AI
Nothing is ordered or charged in the chat. The button opens your design on patchdesign.ai.
- 4
Parker brings your patch over
Parker, our AI patch designer, welcomes you over from ChatGPT and ticks off your design, its size and your price as they load.
- 5
Order it in the designer
Your patch flies into the designer with its type and size already set. Pick a quantity, change anything you like, then click Get It Made.
What you can ask the chat to do
Once PatchDesign.AI is added, your chat can use our patch tools in the middle of a normal conversation.
Price a patch
Name the type, size and quantity and get the price per patch and the total, from the same price table our checkout uses.
Design a patch
Describe it, or share a link to a logo or a sketch, and the design comes back in the chat in about 20 seconds, made by the same engine as our free designer.
Change it
Say what should change, like the border, the colors or the wording, and get a new version. The earlier one stays.
Order it
Ask for the order link. It opens your design on patchdesign.ai with the type, size and quantity already set, and you check them before you pay.
How it works
- 1
Add PatchDesign.AI to your chat, once
In your chat's settings, add a custom connector (some chats call it an app or a plugin) and paste this address. There is nothing to install and no key to enter.
https://patchdesign.ai/api/mcp - 2
Ask for a patch
Name PatchDesign.AI and write it the way you would brief a designer, for example: "Use PatchDesign.AI to design a 3 inch round embroidered patch for the Trail Dogs hiking club, with a dog and mountains."
- 3
Order on patchdesign.ai
When you like it, ask for the order link. You review everything on our site before you pay, and the chat never charges anything.
Works in these chats
ChatGPT, Claude, VS Code and Cursor show each design as a card with the picture, its type and size, and an order button. The others show the image, with links to the full preview and to order it.

Text and linksThings to try
Name PatchDesign.AI in your first message, so the chat knows which tool to use. After that, talk to it the way you would to a designer.
- Ask PatchDesign.AI how much 100 embroidered patches, 3 inches wide, would cost.
- Design a shield patch for Station 12 Fire Rescue in red and gold, with an axe and a ladder.
- Make the border black and the lettering bigger.
- Turn this logo into a 4 inch woven patch: (paste a link to your logo)
- Send me the order link for 50.
Questions
What is MCP?
MCP, the Model Context Protocol, is an open standard that lets AI chat apps use outside tools. PatchDesign.AI runs an MCP server, and its address is what you add to your chat.
Does it cost anything?
No. Each chat gets 10 designs. After that the chat gives you a link to sign in to a free PatchDesign.AI account, which raises it to 25 designs a day and 150 a month and saves your designs to that account. Asking for a price is always free, and you pay only if you order.
Can the chat place an order or charge my card?
No. The chat never charges anything. It gives you a link, and you review the design, the size and the quantity on patchdesign.ai before you pay.
Is the design watermarked?
Previews in the chat carry a light PatchDesign.AI watermark. The file you get when you order is clean.
What does PatchDesign.AI see from my chat?
Only what the chat sends to make the design: a description of the patch, the type, size and quantity, and any logo link you share. The rest of your conversation stays in your chat app.
Which chat works best?
The one you already use. ChatGPT and Claude show each design as a card with an order button. Gemini, Grok, Perplexity and Mistral Le Chat show the image, with links to the full preview and to order it.
Do I need to be technical?
No. Adding it is a one-time copy and paste in your chat's settings, and the setup page walks through each chat step by step. Claude can even open the form already filled in.
